On Wednesday morning a couple was asleep in their bedroom when they were shaken awake by a truck crashing into their house. The impact was severe enough to rupture the gas tank of the pickup truck which set the truck and house on fire.
Police reported that the truck was embedded into the front bedroom, while only the back of the cab was visible. The man and wife living in the home escaped the blaze and called 9-1-1, while trying to extinguish the fire in the truck with a hose. The couple said that the passengers in the vehicle were not moving and were either unconscious or dead.
The couple had been living in the house since 1970 and will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on September 21st. Unfortunately, the preliminary damage of the house is $50,000 and the two occupants of the truck were pronounced dead at the scene.
